Exceptional South African Safaris are Once More Within Reach

The recent reopening of international borders has put South Africa’s exceptional safaris back within reach for our guests, offering them an alluring escape from the world; a tranquil retreat in the heart of the African wilderness. With the health and wellbeing of guests top of mind, all our lodges and camps offer complete isolation and privacy in the most remote and iconic African settings, and with essential COVID safety protocols in place, it makes for the perfect backdrop for a care-free safari.

A hallmark of the Singita guest experience has always been privacy and exclusivity, allowing us to offer guests the luxury of time and space in which to find meaningful connection with each other, as well as the wilderness surrounding them. Together, Singita Sabi Sand and Singita Kruger National Park – both private wildlife reserves accessible only to those staying in our lodges – make up some of South Africa’s most remarkable conservation areas. The enormous benefit of this is not only private access to vast, carefully-preserved African landscapes but a sense of freedom in which to revel in nature and experience the privilege of seeing the continent’s most iconic wildlife up close and in their natural habitat.

The wildlife experience itself is truly astonishing, bringing guests into contact with creatures from rambling herds of elephant and prides of lion with their cubs, as well as ubiquitous herds of antelope, zebra and wildebeest which roam the bushveld enjoying the glorious grazing. Leopards camouflage themselves in the dappled shade of ancient trees, while journeys of giraffe gallop through the grass, enjoying the view from 15 feet in the air. Twice daily game drives and guided safari walks immerse guests in these awe-inspiring moments, allowing them to observe nature unfolding just as it has always done in Africa, untouched for millennia and protected through the tenacity and commitment of our non-profit conservation partners.

Four intimate lodges and three stunning exclusive-use villas make up the offering across the two regions. At Singita Sabi Sand, Ebony Lodge offers a contemporary interpretation of the classic safari aesthetic in the heart of South Africa’s big cat country, while Boulders Lodge is inspired by the banks of the Sand River on which it is found, strewn as they are with ancient granite rocks. A short plane hop to the northeast, at Singita Kruger National Park, a further two striking lodges are set in an isolated piece of pristine wilderness. Lebombo Lodge embraces its dramatic cliffside setting with contemporary glass-walled suites that seem to float between river and sky, while Sweni Lodge sits like a hidden jewel among towering trees on a shaded riverbank, exuding glamour and subtle sophistication.

Guests in search of a private escape with their loved ones will find seclusion and stillness at Singita Castleton in the Sabi Sand; a warm and welcoming African farmhouse set in front of a busy waterhole with its own state-of-the-art wellness facilities such as a fitness centre, yoga pavilion and massage treatment rooms. Undisturbed solitude can also be found at Singita Lebombo and Ebony’s private villa, which offer families or groups of friends the quintessential experience unique to each lodge with added layers of space and tranquillity.
