Going further, exploring wider – the magic of South Africa’s diverse landscapes

South Africa is known and loved for its diversity. Here, landscapes transition from one region to another, and as they do, our experience of them shifts. While not far apart geographically, the Kruger National Park and Sabi Sand each have an indefinable quality of their own.
From the abundance of Sabi Sand, where the concentration of wildlife and sense of heritage converge in a quintessential bush experience, to the Kruger, with its rugged, rocky outcrops and vast tracts of remote wilderness. Here, your surroundings span further and encourage you to lean into your senses, to slow down, learn, and listen.
Travelling between them adds perspective and brings depth to your experience — each is a counterbalance and complement to the other. With just a short flight connecting our concessions in each region, you can explore two of the country’s extraordinary landscapes in sequence, with ease.

Where legacy lives

The birthplace of our enduring purpose, our 45,000-acre private reserve in the Sabi Sand is renowned for remarkable game and frequent leopard sightings. Here, you can experience wildlife encounters that will remain forever etched in your memory.
A place of abundance and indescribable beauty, it ignites a love of nature in first-time visitors and galvanises it in those returning. With a long heritage of ecotourism — as South Africa’s oldest private reserve — it’s inextricably linked to the history of sustainable high-end safaris in the country.

Overlooking the Sand River, Ebony and Boulders each celebrate their setting

From whence we came

Our three properties in the Sabi Sand each offer a unique experience of the landscape. Ebony, a serene and elegant retreat nestled amongst trees along the Sand River, was Singita’s first property and holds a special air of purpose – it represents who we are and how far we’ve come. It’s elegant, but comfortable, timeless and yet energised by the spirit of modern Africa. Generous windows invite observation, and multiple decks under ancient canopies bring monkeys and birds closer.
Nearby Boulders, which looks over the same river, is a more primal interpretation of luxury. Its design is inspired by the ancient foundations of the earth itself – and rock forms its essence, extending deep down into the cool wine cellar below. Blending into the riverbank it sits upon, it connects you with the land and the elements it invites in. Warm, hearty, and alive, its openness offers superb views, while fireplaces provide warmth. A place for red wine and conversation.
Castleton offers something more private. An exclusive-use homestead for friends and families, its verandas and a pool look out over a waterhole, and its gathering spaces are designed to bring people together. A friendly family game of boule or tennis, or time around the fire pit allows the pace to move naturally between lively and leisurely.

Expanding your horizons

Our concession in Kruger is the park’s largest private one — 33,000 acres spanning four distinct ecological zones that invite exploration. It’s also a space to reflect. Guests here have the privilege of exploring it in near-total exclusivity, whether walking through the bush, slowing down on decks overlooking the landscape, or engaging meaningfully with the cultural heritage of the region.
Under trees, through rivers and on top of rocks, this is a landscape that coaxes our curiosity and unfolds as you move through it. Rugged and dense thickets give way to open spans of grasslands, each holding the promise of discovery and surprise.

A place for exploration and learning, Kruger brings you deeper and takes you further into the wild

A world of colour & contrast

Sweni is gentle and welcoming. A soft and private landing place. Hugged on one side by its namesake river and surrounded by trees, it’s embraced rather than hidden, embedded safely into the foliage. It’s the soft counterpoint to the wildness around it, yet reflective of it — full of colour, pattern, and texture.
Deep teal, rust, and turquoise honour the tones of the surrounding wildlife’s shells, wings, leaves, and fur. Dappled light gently eases you into each day. Coffee in the sun on the deck is accompanied by the mist rising off the river, the low rumbles of the resident hippos a comforting reminder of how close it all is. Throughout the day, the sun moves, and the light shifts – as do you, to a comfortable lounge with a view, or a table on a sunny deck. Secluded and private, Sweni is a space to connect.

Sweni owes much of its peaceful energy to its proximity to the river
Sister lodge to Sweni, Lebombo is warm but open. It welcomes you with a calming earthy palette – a counterpoint to Sweni’s rich and energising tones. Guess gather at the long bar or by the pool, a happy hum of voices mingling with the sounds of nature — the chorus of community, both human and wild.
A sensory feast of sound, smell, sight and texture, the views pull you outwards into the wild. Afternoon unfolds, embraced by the elements. Birds, frogs and crickets take shelter in the trees and provide a gentle lullaby to ease you into the night.
