Adventure with a black rhino

Christmas came early… Just two days before the great day we embarked on a morning safari adventure in the rain, dressed up in our safari ponchos. Within the thickets of the area around Pentagon, tracker David, perched on his hot-spot seat in the front of the game viewer, signalled to me to stop. He had spotted something we all could not see. The game viewer came to a halt, and guests became inquisitive as to why the sudden stop.
David gave a sign language for of us to be quiet and vigilant, looking in the direction he pointed. We saw a concave back and then behind a tree was a magnificent black rhinoceros. I whispered to the guests to get their cameras ready. Within that split second the magnificent beast came out in the open to analyse the situation.
Having heard and seen movement in the game viewer, he gave the first mock charge from about 40 meters and stopped. That charge resulted in movements and vocalisations from our game viewer which gave our exact position to the animal. To try and calm him I spoke softly, but he was in no mood for a chat and gave a second mock charge resulting in me shouting at him. He then turned around and took off in the opposite direction, to the delight of the guests. That adventure kept their adrenalin pumping and was not only the talk of the day, but the rest of their stay!
