Nick Gaunge

Nick has been guiding for around 30 years. He started his career in a slightly unrelated field – as an automobile electrician based in Kariba working on safari vehicles, but would also accompany guides on tented safaris around Mana Pools.

Many of the guests he encountered suggested he become a guide – their encouragement and his own passion for nature propelled him to pursue it and get his license.

Having worked in Mana Pools National Park, Matusadona National Park, Kariba, Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park, he gained a wealth of knowledge about Zimbabwe and its incredible landscapes. He has also worked in Botswana and travelled around Zambia and Namibia with an overland company, giving him a truly varied and extensive knowledge base. Now based at Singita Pamushana, he is constantly in awe of the amazing fauna and flora around him.
