Mishi Danstan Mtili
Mishi was born in Arusha in 1983, but she’s adamant that her true roots lie in the Tanga district along the Tanzanian coastline.
Her path to life in the wild took a number of turns as she first chose a different direction by doing a 2 year Secretarial and Computer Science course before joining Singita Grumeti as a data capture student. Not long after she started working in the Wildlife Department, however, she picked up a scent as she heard about wildlife sightings through her involvement and soon her ambition to become a guide became all-consuming.
Mishi joined the Guiding Department in mid 2007, and attended the Singita Grumeti Guide Training Course under Lee Fuller before qualifying as a full-time Field Guide in June 2008. She brings a unique perspective and pays attention to animal behaviour often overlooked by her male colleagues.
