Greg Heasman
Gregory Heasman was born in Johannesburg, where he and his three siblings grew up.
Raised by parents, originally from the UK who fell in love with South Africa and enjoyed the outdoors, he grew up camping regularly and spent most weekends in the bush. His passion for nature was born at a young age and remained strong throughout high school, at which time he was already intent on becoming a safari guide.
After gaining his FGASA level one he said goodbye to city life and started guiding in the Pilanesberg – a longheld dream. After two years here, he moved to Hoedspruit and guided there for a further two years. He then moved on to the Sabi Sand where he has been for the last seven years.
After working in the role of Head Guide for four years, Gregory and his wife moved into the position of Lodge Managers, and ran a camp for a year and a half. During this time he missed being out in the field though and ultimately decided to move back into guiding. It was at this point that his path crossed with Singita, whose reputation he’s always held in high regard.
Gregory feels immense gratitude for what he’s achieved in his 11 years so far in the industry, and is dedicated to furthering his achievements, driven by a passion for what he does.
