Andries Mohlala
Andries was born in 1972 in Soweto, a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. He grew up in a Sotho family that holds its tribal traditions very dear.
After finishing his schooling, he enrolled at the Tompi Seleka College of Agriculture in Pietersburg to study farming, forestry and political science, but took a different direction in order to experience life in the bush. While working at Manyeleti Game Reserve as a bartender, he continued to study via correspondence to become qualified as a guide, growing ever fonder of living close to nature.
When asked about his hobbies and interests, Andries explains how much he loves reading or writing about or even discussing politics, whether it involves events on the local or the international scene. He enjoys meeting guests from all over and sharing some insights of his tribe’s history and culture while teaching them about the wonders of the wild.
