Mark Friend

Mark has a Zimbabwe Professional Guides License and has been guiding since 1997. His favorite game viewing locations are the Malilangwe Conservation Trust and the adjacent Gonarezhou National Park for its diversity of vegetation and animals, its rich history and the many game viewing opportunities on the banks of nearby rivers.

Following and tracking elephant, lion, rhino, cheetah, hyena or leopard on foot leaves him deeply satisfied. When prompted to pick a memorable experience, he hesitates, stating that there had been almost too many to recall, but eventually he expresses his sense of awe and amazement as he witnessed hyenas giving birth, and how privileged he felt as he watched the little pups grow up and develop, seeing them learning essential survival skills while under their clan’s protective care in order for them to face the challenges of life in the wild.
