Unparalleled peace & privacy – Singita’s Private Villa Collection

Within the context of travel, luxury – more than ever before – has become synonymous with privacy, personalisation and the space to create meaningful experiences that foster connection. The epitome of Singita’s intuitive guest experience, our Private Villa Collection also encapsulates the values at the heart of our business, and a deep-seated understanding of the evolving mindset of travellers who seek experiences and destinations that will leave them enriched, transformed and inspired.

Unique & sought-after destinations

Each of the seven properties in Singita’s Private Villa Collection embodies a profound response to the nuanced needs of guests in search of extraordinary locations, and who choose destinations that offer a level of peace and privacy one cannot easily find anywhere else. It’s a portfolio that personifies freedom – through being able to tailor your days with combinations of engaging experiences and much-needed downtime – and offers true tranquillity.

The spacious and beautifully appointed havens, which are found across all of our properties, are purpose-designed for exclusive use. As sanctuaries to which families and friends can escape for much-needed time together in some of the world’s last remaining and best protected wild places, these special spaces allow the luxury to simply breathe and be. It’s a chance to truly connect with nature, and to completely unwind with those you love most.

Our exclusive-use villas and camps offer unparalleled privacy and the space and freedom to craft personalised experiences with loved ones

Enriching wilderness experiences

While our villas have distinct characteristics – and each its own personality and design – an unmistakable sense of place is apparent throughout. Deeply rooted in their locations, these homes celebrate and acknowledge their natural and cultural contexts. The collection includes gracious and elegant homesteads like Serengeti House in Tanzania and Castleton in South Africa’s Sabi Sand, which provide relaxing bases from which to enjoy the scenery as well as a multitude of family-friendly activities – from tennis and long lap pools overlooking the landscape, to wellness spaces for treatments and meditation, as well as interactive family kitchens that encourage children to participate in mealtimes too.

Malilangwe House, located in Zimbabwe’s remote southeast, exudes the warmth and hospitality the country is known for. This expansive and dramatic destination perched atop a clifftop overlooking the Malilangwe Dam offers a particularly broad array of activities – both leisurely and more active – to engage guests. From fishing to bush walks to learn more about the ancient rock art of the region, it’s a culturally and historically vibrant destination that will enlighten and enrich travellers of all ages.

Uniquely designed, with definitive identities and atmospheres, the private villas in our portfolio offer retreats to suit varying groups

Intimate spaces in unspoilt settings

One of the ways Singita continuously strives to stand out is through creating experiences that are hard to find elsewhere. One such destination is Singita Explore – an exclusive-use camp made up of six tented suites, and the ultimate close-to-the-earth experience. It’s a nod to the origin of safari, but with all the creature comforts of modern luxury travel.

The iconic bushveld of South Africa is what safari legends are made of. Big Five country with varying rugged and lush scenery, it’s a must for wildlife and landscape enthusiasts. Here, we have two remarkably different but equally beautiful villas – Lebombo in Singita Kruger National Park and Ebony in the Sabi Sand. Lebombo’s airy, contemporary design offers a breezy and easy connection to your setting, as well as calming spaces to relax and unwind, while Ebony is tucked into a thicket of ancient trees. As our founding lodge, it celebrates our journey – as well as references to tented safari camps of old – on the breathtaking land we first fell in love with.

Our private villas in South Africa make the most of the iconic scenery through their close-to-nature designs

In Rwanda, on the edge of the rainforests of Volcanoes National Park, you’ll find Kataza House. This nurturing and calming villa is inspired by the remarkable surrounding rainforests and the mountain gorillas who call these home. A contemplative and gentle space designed for reflection and connection – ideally suited to unwinding after the life-changing experience of gorilla trekking – it’s a healing destination that will touch travellers across generations.

The freedom to explore unspoilt wilderness areas on your own terms sets the Private Villa Collection experience apart

Curating personalised travel

With a dedicated staff complement to look after you – from a personal Field Guide, chef and sommelier to housekeeping teams – a stay at one of our exclusive-use villas and camps will see your every need catered to.

Whether that entails extended game drives for wildlife and bird enthusiasts, or special meals laid out under the trees or lit by lantern light to mark special celebrations and milestones, a Singita villa allows groups of friends and families to experience the luxury of having their own African home; and a wilderness retreat that exceeds their every expectation.
