Sunshine & wide open spaces at Singita Sabora Tented Camp

At Singita we celebrate the wilderness and environments in which our lodges and camps are located – in order to allow guests to experience the wonder of being in some of the world’s most untouched places, and in so doing realise their value and the importance of protecting them.

The result of this conservation-centred ecotourism approach is lodges, camps and experiences that offer so much more than merely luxury travel, but rather present an opportunity for meaningful experiences that leave a mark and inspire. Singita Sabora Tented Camp in the Serengeti perfectly encapsulates this ethos. Newly redesigned to better immerse guests in nature while offering a stay that speaks to all the senses, it’s a wellness-led destination with a timeless style and a gentle spirit.

Grounded by nature

Designed to give you a sense of being a part of the landscape, Singita Sabora is close to the ground – both literally and figuratively. A low-slung, sleek take on safari tents, it sits unobtrusively and elegantly on the plains, allowing guests to experience the expansiveness of this landscape by virtue of their design. Striking the perfect balance between a nostalgic nod to the origins of safari, and a forward-thinking approach to conscious tourism, Sabora presents a new take on tented travel that is elegant and timeless, and that foregrounds an intimate experience of nature.

The subtle sophisticated, abundance of natural light and soothing natural palette make Singita Sabora Tented Camp an earthy but luxurious escape

Iconic style in an iconic setting

Recently redesigned to reflect our ever-evolving understanding of what travel should offer our guests, Singita Sabora’s new incarnation has been conceived by our long-time collaborators, Cécile & Boyd interior designers and Gapp Architects. Together they have created subtle but sophisticated spaces that hero the landscape through clever design interventions that seek to continuously connect guests with the setting.

From floating decks that hover just above, and step straight down onto the plains, to skylights that allow natural light to flood into the tents and expand views upwards, and verandas offering panoramic views of the Serengeti, all aspects of the design offer a heightened and elevated experience of the African bush.

Embrace the plains

A stay at Singita Sabora Tented Camp, through this immersion in the landscape, and nature-centred design, allows guests the privilege of a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This is overlaid by excursions, activities and moments that further enhance and accentuate this closeness to the wilderness. Experiences that would be impossible to replicate anywhere else. Hot-air ballooning over the plains - the iconic acacias dwarfed by the expanse of the scenery in every  direction, and animals transformed by the bird’s-eye perspective - will remain cemented in your memory forever, a remarkable way to see this iconic scenery.

Singita Sabora's immersive experiences - from starlit dinners, and picnicking on or ballooning over the plains to yoga with a view - all leave an everlasting impression

For those looking for something less lofty, picnicking on the savannah, accompanied by grazing zebra and impala and surrounded by a vast sea of golden grass is a beautiful way to spend memorable time with your partner, family or a group of special friends. And of course, for wildlife-lovers seeking action and adventure, the renowned Great Migration is a bucket list event, and one that will underscore the vastness and spectacle of this special landscape.
