Gold is a wildebeest’s best friend

Pamushana | October 2016

Wildebeest really aren’t attractive at all. They hardly get photographed – except the newborns on their spindly legs or when they are seen migrating in herds of thousands, such as at our sister properties in Tanzania, Singita Grumeti and Lamai. But these two were bathed in intense sunset light, and as the swished their tails little plumes of gold dust sparkled about them. And, when they stood up, they had gold on the soles of their hooves!
