Singita Kruger National Park has been voted the Best Hotel Spa in Africa and the Middle East in the Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards 2011 readers’ survey. Here Relais & Chateaux lodges Singita Lebombo and Singita Sweni boast a spectacular setting on the remote far eastern reaches of the park. Servicing both lodges, the centrally located, glamorous ‘bush spa’ boasts a tranquil ambience and views of the surrounding wilderness that provides a sensory, natural wellness experience designed to restore body, mind and soul. Integrating indoors and outdoors, and essence with form, the spa design combines African earthiness and soulful treatments with huge sliding panels and vast walls of glass that invite nature in.

Besides being voted Best Hotel Spa in Africa and the Middle East, Singita Kruger National Park also ranked among the Top 100 Hotels of the world this year. Singita Grumeti Reserves in Tanzania was voted the winner of the Top 100 Hotels Overall, while flagship Singita Sabi Sand followed hot on its heels in the second place on this coveted list of the world’s best hotels.

Says Chief Marketing Officer for Singita Game Reserves, Lindy Rousseau: ‘The Singita wellness philosophy is designed to take relaxation and personal rejuvenation to a level beyond any pampering experienced elsewhere, while taking cognizance of the natural healing properties of nature. Our Spas are authentic, offering a wellbeing experience designed to awaken guests to the ‘art of living’. Each Spa complements the distinct wilderness destination it serves, and is managed by a team of professional therapists who offer personalised care through a variety of therapies and skincare treatments for every skin type.

We are inordinately proud of our Spa team at Singita Kruger National Park, and regard it as a true honour to be voted a leader in Africa by the discerning travellers who have stayed at this Singita safari destination and benefitted from our world-class wellness experience’, she concluded.

The Spa at Singita Kruger National Park offers a selection of spa treatments from an authentic menu that taps into the secrets of the earth. Treatments are aptly named after the natural African plant and botanical cultures used therein, such as the signature Monkey Orange treatment which utilizes ‘monkey oranges’, from the Calabash family, which harden when dried out, allowing therapists to use massage techniques to glide these natural round balls over the body to induce a state of relaxation and relieve stress. During this treatment a Marula and Neroli oil blend is applied to the body, effecting profound relaxation. Skin care treatments are performed in the tranquility of three Spa therapy rooms, where Dermalogica products are exclusively used, while Healing Earth, an African Product that is one hundred percent organic is used solely for Body Care treatments. Selected spa treatments may also be taken in the privacy of the guest rooms, or weather permitting, in a select safe outdoor setting on the reserve. Whether guests opt for one of the African-inspired signature massages such as the Swiharhi Big Five or the N’weti Touch of Moonlight treatments, or simply choose to unwind in the sauna while inhaling heavenly aromatherapy oils, they always return to the ‘outside world’ feeling at peace and one with nature.
