Cape Town, 1 July 2013: Singita is pleased to announce the appointment of Peter Sawyer as general manager of Singita Kruger National Park (SKNP), and Bazil Roth as lodge manager for Singita Lebombo from 1 July 2013.

Prior to joining Singita, Peter was the operations manager at Onguma Safari Camps and Game Reserve. Peter started his working career as a safari guide after completing his National Diploma in Nature Conservation from Cape Technikon. Over the years he has worked for a tour operator, done extensive sales and marketing, and has worked as a general manager for &Beyond and HRG Rennies Travel Namibia.

“Peter’s well-rounded experience in conservation, sales and marketing, and hospitality gives him the unique skills to steer SKNP to even higher levels of excellence,” says Mark Witney, COO of Singita.

Peter is joined by his partner, Andrea van Alphen, who will also be based at SKNP.

Bazil Roth joins Singita from Sanctuary Retreats in Botswana where he was operations manager for its four camps and lodges. Bazil originally comes from a guiding background, and has gathered invaluable experience in the field of hospitality from his time in Botswana, South Africa and Tanzania.

His experience in hospitality and field guiding ensures he is fully aligned to Singita’s vision of balancing hospitality, conservation and community, and to ensuring guests experience the best of this combination.

Bazil is joined at Singita Lebombo by his wife, Petra Roth, who also has diverse experience as a field guide, beauty therapist, and camp manager.

“We are certain that the valuable and diverse experience Peter and Bazil bring with them will ensure that our guests continue to have extraordinary experiences at our lodges,” concluded Witney.
