Quentin Swanevelder
Quentin grew up in a South African region known as the Lowveld, an area with a high concentration of big game, including elephant, rhino, buffalo, big cats, antelope, hippos, crocodiles and a variety of birds.
His parents loved the Kruger National Park and the family regularly went there on trips, igniting Quentin’s love and passion for wildlife which motivated him to study tourism and become a qualified field guide in 2001. He spent a number of years doing multi-day walking safari trips and working at various luxury lodges.
New opportunities opened up when he became a Trails Guide Instructor in 2016 which allowed him to share his knowledge and hard-earned experience with students who were eager to become wildlife ambassadors. Singita’s stated purpose and approach to conservation is something that resonates deeply with Quentin and working towards the same goal is a dream come true for him.
