Sabi Sand
Lucy Stofberg
Lucy grew up on a farm near Worcester in the Western Cape. From a young age she explored the mountains surrounding her home, and took an interest in the biodiversity of the Cape Floral Kingdom. Her curiosity expanded through her travels with her family camping in the national parks of Southern Africa. Being out in nature has always been where she feels most content.
She studied for a few years in the USA and lived for a year in Southeast Asia but her heart was set on coming back to the bush. Since starting her career as a Field Guide it has allowed her to experience some of the most incredible wilderness areas in Africa, from the equatorial rainforests of the Congo basin to the vast arid expanses of the southern Kalahari.
Before starting with Singita she worked for Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, Kamba Africa in Odzala-Kokoua National Park (Republic of Congo) and Tswalu Private Game Reserve, and also spent some time in the forests of Gishwati-Mukura National Park in Rwanda, habituating a group of eastern chimpanzees.
She is happy to now be based in the iconic wilderness destination that is the Lowveld, where her fascination with the natural world is revitalised every time she ventures out with guests.
