Grant Telfer

Grant Telfer considers himself fortunate to have grown up in a family that valued the outdoors, wildlife and adventure and had a childhood that included a numerous walking and canoeing safaris in the Zambezi Valley.

Following university Grant pursued a career in the bush. From iconic safari destinations like South Africa and Kenya, to the jungles of Rwanda and India and the forests of Sri Lanka, or scuba diving in Vietnam, Grant has explored and guided across the globe for the last decade,
but has been based in the Serengeti since 2013 and at Singita Mara River Tented Camp for the last two and a half years. Living alongside the iconic herds of wildebeest, he’s continuously trying to gain a greater understanding of their movements and herd behavior especially as they navigate the treacherous crossing of the Mara River.

Currently responsible for the development and mentorship of the Singita Grumeti guiding team, during his time in Tanzania, he’s worked with and trained over 100 guides with the goal of assisting each individual to reach their potential and deliver a world-class guiding experience to their guests.

A proficient photographer, he feels fortunate to be able to continue guiding guests across Africa.
