Edward Sawe Kaaya

Edward was born in 1974 in Kingori village, Arumeru district, Tanzania.

After a course at the Professional Tour Guide School in Arusha, he assisted in climbing expeditions. Without any hauteur he calmly states that he has reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro a spectacular 15 times.

Edward has aimed high by furthering his qualifications and obtaining a certificate in Wildlife Management at Mweka Wildlife College. He started at Singita Grumeti Reserves as a trainee guide in December 2007, becoming a fully qualified guide a mere 6 months later. He has travelled extensively in Tanzania and was given the responsibility of assisting in a road convoy that traversed South Africa, Botswana, Zambia and Tanzania.

Although Edward loves the bush, he also has other passions. He is married to Pendo and has two children, Collin and Angela. As a family, they enjoy football, wildlife documentaries and spending time with friends.
