Singita Kruger National Park takes home the Flor de Caña Eco Hotel Award 2023 and is named No.15 in The World’s 50 Best Hotels

20 September 2023 – Singita Kruger National Park (comprising Singita Lebombo Lodge & Sweni Lodge) has been named No.15 in the new global ranking of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2023. Singita was one of three hotels from Africa ranked in the top 50, the sole safari lodge and the only property in sub-Saharan Africa.

Singita Kruger National Park also received the Flor de Caña Eco Hotel Award for outstanding efforts towards sustainability at The World’s 50 Best Hotels. It is an honour to be recognised in a way that is so aligned with our 100-year purpose, and our commitment to wildlife, community and procurement.

The list was announced at a captivating awards ceremony in London, and includes industry-defining hotels from 35 different locations across six continents worldwide. This long-awaited list is 50 Best’s first foray into the travel space, and its first new global ranking since the launch of The World’s 50 Best Bars in 2009.

Last night, the world of travel gathered from around the globe to celebrate each other’s achievements at the announcement of The World’s 50 Best Hotels 2023. The unveiling highlights outstanding hotel experiences across the world that will shape the aspirations of consumers, travellers and hoteliers.

“This is a proud moment for Singita, and we feel honoured to be recognised in this way, especially as we celebrate our 30th anniversary. I feel immense gratitude for our lodge teams at Singita Kruger National Park and all the talented people who work hard every day to bring the magic of the Singita experience to life for our guests. This is for them,” says Jo Bailes, Singita CEO.

Singita is a conservation and ecotourism brand that has been helping to preserve Africa’s wildlife and wilderness for the past 30 years, offering guests exceptional safari experiences at 16 luxury award-winning lodges and camps across four countries. In partnership with non-profit Funds & Trusts who implement strategic conservation projects in each region, Singita’s 100-year purpose is to preserve and protect large parts of African wilderness for future generations.

The launch of The World’s 50 Best Hotels is another step in 50 Best’s journey towards becoming the ultimate global reference point for the very best hospitality experiences across the world, encompassing restaurants, bars, and now hotels.
