Godson was born 1986 and was raised on the slopes of mount Meru in Arusha, Tanzania.

Growing up in a neighborhood named wilderness with wild animals as residents he had no chance of brushing aside its indelible influence. Like a river in flood, he didn’t fight the current, but rather married his love of animals to his desire for understanding by enrolling for a rigorous 2-year course at Mount Meru Wildlife College in 2005. Afterwards he gained valuable experience as a guide before joining Singita Grumeti Reserves.

On game drives, guests are often amazed at his ability to recognize and identify scores of bird species. Godson also relishes walks in nature, always hoping to see cheetah, his favorite. When asked about his best sighting, he responds immediately with the fascinatingly tender details of an elephant giving birth. That he loves being a field guide, is plain for all to see.
