Singita Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park | October 2012

With the phenomenal rainfall over the last few weeks, the grey and brown colours of winter have been washed away by the new flush of green that has sprouted up everywhere. The concession is in full bloom and it looks incredible. After five months of hardly a drop of rain you become familiar with the dry vegetation and quickly forget what happens when the summer rains start…

The bush transforms into new life and revitalises itself from seemingly dead plant material to flourishing green life. With the vegetation growing rapidly, it has caused a stir amongst the wildlife and large herds of general game have been seen. Large journeys of giraffe exceeding 15 in number have been a common sight and, watching a stretch of giraffe like that move across a green field, you can’t help gasping words like, “Wow!”. Large herds of buffaloesand elephants are nowalso common sights in the open grasslands.
