A Singita safari has long been synonymous with an exceptional, once-in-a-lifetime wildlife experience that connects guests with untamed Africa while enfolding them in extraordinary comfort. As the world of travel and adventure begins to turn again, following a perspective-shifting time that has served to remind us about the most important things in life, we are revisiting the nature of these experiences with a new point of view. Our core values – touching the earth lightly, caring for and working with our communities in a meaningful way and nourishing body and soul through moments of mindful connection – remain firmly in focus, while others have been fine-tuned to keep the emphasis on the healing power of nature.

Among these tailor-made packages is a carefully-crafted itinerary that offers exclusive access to the best of East Africa: 13 nights between Kataza House in Rwanda and Serengeti House in Tanzania for eight guests. Together, they epitomize the serenity of a private safari with us, and the wonder of Africa’s last, unspoiled wilderness areas and the unique wildlife that flourish within them.
SINGITA KATAZA HOUSE – 5 NIGHTS
Arriving in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, you will be assisted through customs and immigration by the meet-and-greet team before being taken to the Kigali Serena Hotel for a mandatory COVID-19 test and overnight stay while awaiting the results. The following morning, a private, 30-minute helicopter transfer takes you directly to Singita Kataza House. Set alongside Rwanda’s world-famous Volcanoes National Park, this environmentally-sensitive retreat comprises four spacious suites, two heated plunge pools, a wine cellar, fitness centre, cinema, massage treatment room, interactive kitchen and fire pit, and is managed by a full complement of on-site staff. A farm-to-table food journey celebrating Rwandese cuisine and fresh produce from the on-site garden is a feature of the guest experience, as are the two private, life-changing gorilla treks included in the package. Kataza House is located less than ten minutes from the Park’s headquarters, providing your group with nurturing spaces in which to appreciate the transformative experience of meeting these “gentle giants of the forest”.

The endangered gorillas are just the start of the experience here; other highlights include interactive cooking lessons with our expert chefs, a tour of the Akarabo Garden & Nursery, interactions with gifted local artisans, golden monkey trekking, guided birding walks, wellness treatments and numerous opportunities for relaxation and contemplation in the comfort and tranquillity of your own private space.
SINGITA SERENGETI HOUSE – 7 NIGHTS
A return helicopter transfer to Kigali and private charter flight, stopping briefly to clear immigration at the border into Tanzania, takes you to Singita Serengeti House; an entirely different private villa experience. With uninterrupted views of the Serengeti plains and a busy waterhole favoured by elephants, zebra, giraffe and more, this secluded, exclusive-use property is the ideal location in which to disconnect from the world and find sanctuary in the total tranquillity of a near-endless wilderness. Guests are cocooned in laid-back luxury, allowing attention to be drawn to the remarkable, 350,000-acre wildlife reserve surrounding the villa and the year-round abundance of game viewing enjoyed here. Each of the four, boldly-proportioned suites feature serene views, spacious en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers and private terraces – sophisticated, off-the-grid living in a calming neutral palette of sun-bleached blonde, beige and grey.

The wide-open spaces of Singita Grumeti are yours to explore, whether on twice-daily game drives with your private guide in a dedicated vehicle, or on foot through the wilderness for an incredibly immersive, sensory experience. The rest of the day can be spent enjoying the 25-metre rim-flow pool, doing a guided yoga or meditation practice, sweating it out with the Grumeti Fund anti-poaching scouts during a functional fitness session, playing tennis or learning to track animals in the bush. Evenings may include stargazing, cocktail-making classes and dinners under the endless night sky, followed by family movie nights in the media room – each activity tailored especially for you.
From start to finish, exclusivity is guaranteed and safety is our top priority – private charter arrivals and departures are arranged from small, quiet or private airports and co-ordinated to avoid other commercial flights. Guests will also receive VIP meet-and-greet on arrival and can expect quick and efficient management of immigration and customs. Every detail has been considered to ensure smooth, seamless travel and a 13-day itinerary that enables you to unwind and enjoy precious connections – with loved ones, with yourselves and with the rare privilege of access to private, pristine wilderness.
