A Private Safari at Singita Serengeti House

The slopes of Sasakwa Hill in Tanzania's western Serengeti are perfectly positioned for sweeping views of the grassy plains below, and the huge numbers of game that traverse these ancient lands all year round. Perched in this idyllic location is Singita Serengeti House; an exclusive-use retreat that reopens in June 2017 with a bold new look.

Singita’s driving force has always been underpinned by a 100-year purpose to preserve and protect large areas of African wilderness for future generations, creating exceptional wildlife experiences like the one here at Singita Grumeti, for our guests.

Singita Serengeti House - Private Villa, Tanzania

Singita Serengeti House embodies sophisticated safari living that gives visitors a sense of relaxed freedom and profound connection with the landscape. A glamorous new take on the interior design celebrates refined yet comfortable elegance in their signature style, which deftly balances opposing elements. A few structural changes have also been made: New, casual living spaces include an eat-in kitchen and media room, a full gym and a brand new tented spa suite at the updated tennis pavilion. A stunning 25-metre lap pool, extended outdoor dining decks and two cosy fire pits create an intimate environment for spending quality time together, as well as offering a good look at the busy and picturesque waterhole beyond. The entire house and all its facilities will be powered by a state-of-the-art solar plant, allowing the property to run completely off the grid; "touching the earth lightly" to ensure that our footprint on the land is kept to a minimum.

Singita Serengeti House - Private Villa, Tanzania

The look and feel of Singita Serengeti House has been refreshed with a calming neutral palette of sun-bleached blonde, beige and grey that brings the grassy plains indoors. Natural fibres, such as grass jute matting, polished cement floors, local stone and raw timber add texture to the modern African aesthetic, together with authentic, handcrafted artefacts and artist John Banovich’s fine-art wildlife paintings. Filled with natural light, there are four boldly proportioned guest suites with serene bathrooms, outdoor showers and private terraces in which to enjoy quiet, feet-up moments. All elements combine to strike the perfect balance between luxury and functionality, while creating a beautiful and generous space for sharing in this magical part of Africa with your loved ones.

The house forms part of our villa offering, Singita Private, which combines six exclusive-use properties, scattered across some of the continent's most spectacular conservation areas. As with the rest of the collection, Singita Serengeti House is serviced by a full staff complement, including a private chef and host, and a full-time field guide and dedicated vehicle to ensure an easy, flexible rhythm to each itinerary with tailor-made activities and meals. Whether enjoying game drives, guided bush walks or simply an afternoon unwinding at the pool, each visitor to Singita Serengeti House, and the other properties that form part of the Singita Private villa collection, has the freedom to enjoy Africa on their terms.
