Cocktail Recipe: The Spirit of Sweni
We recently brought you a recipe from Singita Sweni Lodge, inspired by the rich colour palette of its interior design. Today, we have a lighter take on the lodge's signature cocktail that reflects the fresher, brighter aspects of this stunning property; the bold green of the Lebombo euphorbias, the bright sunshine that sparkles off the river below and the warm, golden tones of the decor and furniture.
This refreshing cocktail adds some zip and zing to a traditional gin and tonic by adding homemade lemonade and some fresh fruit to the mix. We've published a few other twists on the G&T on the blog in previous posts, including this frozen sorbet version and a recipe for the perfect G&T. Share you ideas for jazzing up traditional cocktails in the comments below!

Sitting low on the Sweni River, Singita Sweni Lodge is a tranquil sanctuary built on stilts with decks of dark timber, giving it a grounded and earthy feel. The six secluded suites offer solitude in a wild setting that stimulates all the senses. The idea of ‘letting nature indoors’ is one of the main design elements at Sweni. The look and feel, with tactile furnishings, has been carefully created to bring in the textures and shades of the bush.
