Singita has an opening for a Social Media Specialist who is passionate about building online communities and delivering engaging content to audiences.

As a Social Media Specialist you will develop original content and suggest creative ways to attract guests and build positive brand sentiment. Ultimately, you should be able to increase web traffic and customer engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing strategies.

What you will need

  • At least 2 years experience in a similar role
  • Self-starter and creative problem-solver
  • Experience in executing social media initiatives
  • Excellent understanding of the social media marketing and related disciplines including content strategy, online video and influencer engagement
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Ability to balance a diverse set of content and messaging e.g. conservation and hospitality
  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office
  • Competency of industry systems and tools such as Sprout Social and Hoot Suite and eClincher
  • Technical understanding of social networks’ design and functionality specs
  • Proficiency and experience in social scheduling and listening tools
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Proactive, with strong initiative

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with research, creation, conception and presentation of social media strategy and integrated marketing campaigns
  • Interpret and roll-out strategy and creative concepts
  • Formulate monthly content plans across social media platforms in line with social strategy, consumer insights and brand tone of voice
  • Develop fresh creative ideas in line with social media and content trends
  • Devise agile tactical executions based on trending topics
  • Create and co-ordinate real-time social media posts for events as and when required
  • Publish daily content posts in accordance with content calendar
  • Review user comments and posts in a quick and timely manner
  • Respond to comments in order to foster a positive community and add value to the user experience
  • Escalate complaints, queries and concerns to relevant stakeholders and respond accordingly
  • Monitor and analyse traffic patterns and share best practices
  • Review reporting and deliver insights and recommendations to tell a story based on available data
  • Stay up to date with competitive landscape
  • Provide monthly reporting with detailed insights
