At Singita Grumeti Reserves we delight in creating feasts and occasions that will live with our guests forever. Nothing is more thrilling than a surprise venue and menu for dinner. Imagine dining under a lamp-lit acacia or beneath the boughs of a large ‘Sausage’ tree (Kigelia africana) or around the campfire with star-lit skies.
Tonight at Singita Sasakwa Lodge, we’re pulling out all the stops. Grilling lobster from Dar es Salaam, chilling champagne, and setting up a dance spectacle that is certain to enthrall – all as the sun sets. It doesn’t get better than this – we’ll let the pictures tell the story.
The question we get asked most frequently, about trips to the Singita Grumeti Reserves, is:
How do we get there?
The perception that it’s difficult to reach to Singita Grumeti Reserves isn’t true at all. While major international airlines don’t fly directly into Sasakwa airstrip, Singita Grumeti Reserves can still be reached fairly easily.
If you’re an overseas guest, visiting Singita Grumeti Reserves, KLM operates daily flights into Kilimanjaro International Airport.
From here you can:
- Charter a private plane that will take you directly to Sasakwa airstrip.
- Or you can overnight in Arusha and opt for a scheduled flight the following morning
If you opt for the scheduled flight you could be collected at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transferred, by road, to Arusha where you can overnight at the Legendary Coffee Lodge. The following morning you will fly from Arusha to the Sasakwa airstrip.
Those that like new and authentically African experiences will no doubt enjoy Arusha airport, it really is one of the more delightful local airports. Apart from being charming it is also home to one of the best cups of coffee in Tanzania. If you have time you really have to have a coffee but make sure to limit your intake as there is no lavatory on the small plane from Arusha airport to Sasakwa airstrip.
